2023 Jamaica Relief Ministries Construction Trip
WHEN
May 6 2023 - May 13 2023
WHERE
Reading, St. James, JM
The dream of Jamaica Relief Ministries began in 1989 when Hurricane Gilbert caused extensive damage in Jamaica. Short term work/ministry teams were organized and brought to the island to repair homes, schools, and churches. Because of the tremendous needs, teams continued to come over the next 10 years. It was finally decided that a full time staff presence was needed to better serve the people of Jamaica. In November of 2001, Floyd and Ellen Yoder came and pioneered the work of JRM. Jamaica Relief Ministries is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization involved in various child and family related ministries in Jamaica.
The construction team will be working within the JRM Family Connect program to build a home for a family in need.. Many times families are separated from their children due to poor living conditions. These families want to care for their own children, but are unable to access adequate, safe housing.Families are referred to JRM by the CPFSA (Child Protection and Family Services Agency) and we depend on our donors to provide the needed funds for these projects. In addition to building a house, JRM provides ongoing services to the families we assist, connecting them to community resources, counseling, and other needed services. JRM is strengthening Jamaica, one family at a time!Sign Up
