2025 Kenya Mission Trip - Diani

Depending upon the makeup of the team we will focus on the following opportunities while there.
Mission Opportunities
The people group that the Wint's are trying to reach are the Digo people - less than 0.1% Christian.  They are Muslim.  They are using holistic ministry for outreach...Kisma, which is the heroin detox center, and Melynda is using occupational therapy with children who mostly have cerebral palsy...it is a outreach to their entire families (caregiver support group).

There are two national Baptist churches (think very small...about 25 members if everyone comes, lots of children) they partner with in town and there are two other national churches (non SBC) that preach Truth that they feel confident sending/recommending people to be a part of those bodies.  These churches are large and appeal more to people who want English (although one of them does have a Swahili service, too.).

Anyone is welcome to come and serve, but those who have drug counseling skills would be a great benefit...also they are attempting to turn the detox center into more of a rehab centyer which would help with skills/vocational training...and those who love children with special needs would have many opportunities to work with these kids.

Also anyone who would like to help the churches with follow up from the earlier teams in May/June/early July...these will likely be high school/college/early career age that have been reached.  So perhaps follow up meetings at coffee houses or evening sports.

There is a large population of single parents so we see the need to have something to minister to single parents.
